Injectable Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators (for example Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Daxxify) are non-surgical treatments used to temporarily relax facial muscles, reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. These treatments are ideal for treating wrinkles that appear with repetitive facial expressions.

• Vertical frown lines (the 11’s)
• Horizontal forehead lines and wrinkles
• Crow’s feet around the eyes (smile lines)
• Corner of the brow to perform a brow lift
• Bunny lines around the nose
• Upper lip to perform a lip flip
• Lower face to reduce downward pull on the corner of mouth
• Neck bands (platysma bands)
• Chin dimpling
• Masseter muscles for facial slimming or to treat jaw clenching and teeth grinding

The duration of the effect is influenced by various factors, including drug-specific elements such as the type and dosage of the neuromodulator used, along with patient-related factors like metabolic rate. Typically, individuals experience the effects for approximately 3-4 months before considering a re-dosing procedure.Some patient’s will space treatments out to 6 month intervals.

Neuromodulator treatments are overall very safe.

Redness followed by bruising may occur at the injection site following the treatment, but resolve without issue. Allergic reactions are very rare. Pregnant or lactating women should not receive treatment. Unwanted side effects can include unintended muscle under activity or over activity. Examples can include eyebrow “spocking”, dropped brows, droopy eyelid, or an uneven smile.
